peaceful, luxurious guesthouses, lots of space for kids to run, friendly llamas, horseback riding, great food!!!

beautiful, shady grounds, good way to see animals they try to show you when you visit the rainforest!

didn't take my son up in the cable car, but he stayed below to visit the amusement park...

pigeons to feed, cafe to drink, people to watch, beautiful old church to explore

Saturday & Sunday pony rides in the park; all days--paddleboats to ride around the artificial moat, Vivarium (snake/lizard zoo) to see scary creatures, Botanical Garden that I didn't visit but looks great from the outside....weekend organized aerobics classes outside...nice bike trail

quiet park above Quito -- fresh air, eucalyptus trees, playground, trails -- lots of mountain biking takes place here. Easiest reached by car or taxi.
