Places to see and things to do with a few days in Portland, OR
Half the price of the boutique hotels. Clean, nice rooms. Sits at the top of 23rd in Nob Hill. What else could you want?
Boutiques, restaurants, cafes, day spas dot this one mile stretch or Victorian homes. Place to be.
They bake their own goods. Pastries, sandwiches, salads, tea, coffee and more. Cute cafe with in and outdoor seating available. Good for people-watching.
Must go for crafts -- jewelry, art, etc.
Organic and sustainable...and yummy. Menu changes daily, so I was told. In and outdoor dining. Considered one of the nicer restaurants in town.
Cooperative Grocery Store -- organic and natural. Grab snacks or items you forgot.
Nicest Starbucks I've ever frequented -- grab a couch by the fireplace.
Must see -- heard it's nicest on a dreary morning. I went on sunny afternoon -- either probably has its pluses. Must see in Portland.
Across the street from the Japanese garden, another must see. Beautiful roses (Portland's "thing") and great views of Mt. Hood. And free.
Take this train from the Rose Garden to the Zoo -- or the other way around. It goes through the Woods of Washington Park -- very cool. Beware of children.
Animals. Children. Heat. Standard. Bats are cool.
Known for killer deserts. Salads and other foods are quite tasty as well. Cute, uplifting restaurant.
Small cosmetics boutique -- offers services as well.
Super cool boutique (for the ladies...or the benders). Funky jewlery, gifts, accessories, clothes and wigs.
Chocolate -- sweet beautiful, chocolate. $2 for truffle, but worth it.
Supercute french cafe.
Easy access around Nob Hill, the Pearl and Downtown Portland.
Checking "the Pearl" out via the street car (without getting off) sufficed. Modern dwellings for the hipsters. Read: contrived.
Yay! Take the tour, if you can.
Standard fare. Cool tall ceilings and windows. Cavernous.
Holy overwhleming. Gotta see it though. I suggest you pick one thing you want to check out less you'll start spinning.
Yuuuuummmmm. Organic and sustainable french (simple) cuisine.
Tasty food and a nice, local feel. Slightly off the beaten path.
the heart of the downtown shopping area. Check out Nordstrom Rack -- lots of great finds for a steal. Prepare to dodge solicitors and street dwellers.
