These are some of the most visited places in Kenya that we can recommend. The top ten places to visit while visiting Kenya that are most interesting, most famous, most visited and more so entertaining.
Nairobi national museums, Giraffe Centre, Nairobi National park, Karen Blixen, Delphine Sheldrick Elephant orphanage, Snake Park, African Heritage House, Nairobi Safari Walk, Bomas of Kenya and other Nairobi Tours
The only national park in the city where you can see animals in the wild. A game drive to this park is always amazing. If you are lucky you can witness a pride of lions, leopard, Rhinos, giraffes, gazzelle, kongoni etc
Nairobi National Museums
Ranked the most visited sight in Kenya is very popular with both local and international tourists. The cultural, archeological displays from the early age Homo sapiens to the modern day civilization. The galleries are amazing if you are not careful you will never know how time passes.
This is the most fascinating of them all. Especially if you visit around 4pm when the giraffes are feeding you can feed or even kiss a giraffe. Where else can these huge animals be found so close and candid…? They always amaze me…any visit to Nairobi feed the Rothschild giraffe at the Giraffe centre
The snake park gives me goose bumps every time I visit especially at the sight of the longest snake …the rock python. The variety of snakes that you are not likely to see in many other snake parks and the candidness as you watch them closely separated by a strong glass! Candid photos as well with a good camera
The David Sheldrick
This is an amazing place to visit and play with the jumbo’s. The orphanage gives you an opportunity in Kenya to come closer to the elephants and take candid photos of them playing with the care takers. I love when the calves are being fed…the milk spills make you feel like it’s a real baby! In the orphanage you can donate towards the trust that takes care of the injured and orphaned elephants
Kazuri meaning beautiful in Kiswahili a local East African Language is a place to be to look beautiful and get souvenirs for your loved ones. Handmade, ceramic and pottery takes place here. Beautiful designs and sometimes you can get a chance to choose beads and make your own bracelet, necklace etc. The works is done by the single mothers, windows to support the community. Buying at Kazuri is like donating to charity. I always support them.
Next to Kazuri beads is the famed Karen Blixen museum. This is the home of the famous movie “Out of Africa” writer and actor Baroness Karen Blixen. Here you get all the antique things of the Baronness as well as refreshing views of the Ngong Hills. Karen Blixen coffee garden and restaurant is a great place to have some coffee or lunch and the manicured lawns leaves your eyes relaxed. For any history lover, luxury lovers this is a good place not to leave out of your itinerary in Nairobi.
The home of the cultural Kenya. Enjoy the dances from different tribes in Kenya as well as visit the villages still at the Bomas of Kenya. The difference is culture, dance moves, attires and rhythm is amazing. This is the only place you get all the 42 tribes at a go within 2 hours. It’s amazing and entertaining as well.
A piece of architecture in the bush. The most amazing house to look at coupled with the beautiful views to the Nairobi National Park. Beautiful house to spend a night.
