Interesting things to do in Belgrade, Serbia.

  • Explore locations featured in this Trip List: Belgrade
  • Category: Perfect weekend
  • 1. Kalemegdan Fortress
    The Belgrade Fortress, Belgrade, Serbia

Interesting and huge fort on top of a hill, within walking distance of the very center of the city and the shopping district. Easy to reach. Great photo opportunity and free to get in to!

There is an old fort, a military museum, several cafe's, an old roman well... all housed within the structure.

  • 2. Danube River
    Danube River, Belgrade, Serbia

Walk along the banks of the river Danube, from New Belgrade to Zemun - you have ice cream sellers during hot months and fresh roasted corn on the cob and pancakes during winter months. Also, you have loads of floating boats selling coffee and food.

  • 3. Karting

Brilliant go karting track - one of the best in Europe. Loads of fun, 1200 dinars for 10mins (works out at about 5 laps which seems small but the adrenalin rush is worth it).

It's near Nikola Tesla airport but can be reached by bus or car (it's not far out of the city like other airports are)

  • 4. Ada Ciganlija
    Ada Ciganlija, Belgrade, Serbia

A massive lake with coffee shops, bars, water skiing, and, oddly, beaches and swimming for hot weather! It also has a huge cycle track with cycle, Rollerblade and segway hire.

  • 5. Delta City Shopping Centre

Large shopping centre in Belgrade, with a huge and new (as of 2012) multiplex cinema. Features all of the shops you need, cafes, food hall, and oodles to do. Can be reached by many bus and tram lines, and in my opinion is a better experience than the other shopping centre, Usce (mainly because of the new cinema and less crowded shops)

  • 6. Skadarlija

The Bohemian quarter of Belgrade (very near to the centre) with bars, restaurants, coffee shops and lovely little art shops to wander around. It also has a nice spa at the top if you want to get a massage.

Great place to have dinner in during the night!

  • 7. Zemun Green Market

You may have been to a farmers market, but try Zemun's (just a few bus stops away from New Belgrade) green market for an expansive experience!

With at least a hundred sellers of fresh fruit, veges, honey, fresh bread, cakes, meat, homemade cheeses, etc, you will be spoilt for choice.

You can actually get to it by walking from New Belgrade, along the banks of the river Danube until you reach Zemun (about 15mins relaxing walk).
