Here are the best activities and places to stay in the Grand Canyon Area. We've tried many activities and hotels. These are the Best!
This is the premier guide service at the Grand Canyon. They offer sightseeing tours, day hikes and overnight backpacking trips. If you are considering hiring a guide, then this is the company to contact.
Helicopters can't fly into the canyon (within the national park), so take an airplane instead. You see more, are more comfortable, and it is less expensive.
Not actually in Grand Canyon, but just outside the park in Glen Canyon. This is the only real option for a one day river trip in the area. This trip can also be combined with a flight to page by Grand Canyon Airlines.
This is the hotel to stay at in Grand Canyon National Park. If you can't get reservations here, you may want to consider the canyon side rooms in the Thunderbird or Kachina Lodges. Otherwise, don't bother with any of the other hotels in the park. Stay at the Best Western Squire just outside the park, or Little America in Flagstaff.
If you can't get into the El Tovar, consider staying here. This hotel is not as nice as either the El Tovar or Little America, but it is a good option if you are traveling with kids. There is a pool, bowling alley, video games, tennis, and many other activities.
This is our favorite hotel in Northern Arizona. We usually stay here when visiting the canyon, and do a tour or a hike with Angel's Gate. Flagstaff has the best selection of restaurants, nightlife, and other services in the ares. Flagstaff is also a much nicer town then nearby Williams.
