  • 1. The Breakfast Klub
    The Breakfast Klub, Houston

This is a great place to have breakfast on Saturday morning. The lines can be long, but it's worth it. If you like chicken and waffles, this place is the place to be. I love the fact that I can sit there and drink coffee out of huge coffee mugs. The people and service are great.

  • 2. Houston Museum of Natural Science
The Houston Museum of Natural Science, Houston

After you've had your fill at the Breakfast Klub, go south about 2miles into the Museum District. There's a huge park and tons of museums. My favorite is the Museum of Natural Science. They have a butterfly exhibit, IMAX, Paleontology exhibit, and much more! There are always rotating special exhibits at the museum as well. The Houston Zoo, Holocaust Museum, Art Museum are within 1/4 mile of this museum.

  • 3. Vintage Shopping

If you want a cool place to go vintage shopping, head over to the Montrose district at Westheimer/Dunlavy. You must check out Buffalo Exchange (www.buffaloexchange.com)

  • 4. Brasil Cafe

If shopping for vintage clothes has you beat, head down the street to Brasil Cafe for a pick-me-up. They also have bands on the weekends! Sit back and enjoy!

  • 5. Millie Bush Dog Park

If you're a dog lover or have a dog with you, you should head to the Millie Bush Dog Park. This is rated as one of the best dog parks in the country! There are 2 big pools for the dogs (of course!) and numerous fake fire hydrants. Your dog will thank you!

  • 6. Chinatown

If you're looking for good Chinese/Vietnamese food, go to the Southwest side of Houston. Just go down Bellaire around the Beltway, and you'll find numerous restaurants. If you like DimSum, try Lucky Dragon 2 or Golden Palace.

  • 7. Sports

Houston is a sports fan's dream! We have all the major league sports here! Baseball: Astros. Football: Texans (yes, I know they're not great). B-Ball: Rockets (you can sing the Yao Ming anthem). Soccer: Dynamos.

There are always specials on tickets, so check out the teams websites for more info.

  • 8. Rice Village
    http://www.ricevillageonline.com/

This is a great place to eat, drink, and shop! It's close to Rice University and has a quirky vibe to it. It's an open shopping area w/ the regular mall stores. There are plenty of really good bars in this area. Try the GingerMan; it has one of the largest draught list in Houston!

There are tons of great restaurants. Try Ruggles Cafe, Yum Yum Cha (dim sum), and numerous other restaurants!
