Places I have to take my daughter before she goes off on her own.
One of our best trips. We stayed at the Welks Resort and my five year old enjoyed every moment. Must sees are: The San Diego zoo, Animal Kingdom, and Lego Land. Each place offered something very different and we enjoyed every second. We barbequed at the resort and cooked a few meals to save money, and calories. Ocean Beach was magnificent we enjoyed the boardwalk and watching the surfers even in February. The Temperature was about 70 daily so we were able to take advantage of the pools and come back to the East Coast with nice Tans.
Orlando is wonderful in September. The lines at Disney are short and the weather is still warm enough to hang out in the pools all day. Disney starts their Boo Festival during September and its a great deal to get into the park and trick or treat. Everyone comes in costume and the kids have a blast. The parade is amazing. I always stay at a resort or timeshare which saves a ton of money. I can rent the room online via expedia and most have full kitchens with all the accessories, two bedrooms, patios etc. They also offer lots of onsite activities like pools and organized kids events so you don't have to go to the parks daily.
Puerto Rico is simply a place to go for good weather. Old San Juan was very charming and the food was good, but its very crowded and you don't want to drive there. I went with my mother and daughter and found a beach in a town away from the resorts. We had a great time and ate great at a local restaurant. Unfortunately I felt like I was in Miami instead of a vacation destination.
Barbados is Amazing. The flyfish alone will make you stay. Every Friday there is a huge dance party and cookout the locals have and its the best time you will have. Bajans go about their daily business and arent really there for the Tourist like other caribbean countries which makes it a more geniune experience. Most of the Tourist you will meet are from Europe and they don't vacation the way Americans do. The best way to put it is that Barbados is a Civilized Destination.
Beignet... Beignet,,,, Beignet... I have been about 4 times and I can never get enough of the food. You rarely can go wrong in any sit down restaurant in New Orleans. The city is so pretty you can spend hours just walking and taking in the sites. Embassy Suites is a great place to stay while there. Its close to anything you want to get to and the staff is usually very friendly. Leave your car at home and stay downtown. Parking is expensive so walk or jump on the local bus to get around.
Amazing Location. The weather was wonderful in the Summer and the pools and slides left my 4 year old in a complete state of excited frenzy. We toured the aquarium watched the Dolphins in the Dolphin pool. You don't have to stay at Atlantis to enjoy all it offers. Purchase a day pass and take advantage you won't be sorry.
Wonderful Vacation. The island is beautiful. Best time to go is during the Musical Festival. There isn't much to do in Turks, so its more for relaxing.
One of my Favorite Places. Have to go for the Annual Jazz Festival. We saw Stevie Wonder for Free out in the rain. He sang for about two hours and we danced nonstop. The Food in Montreal is wonderful and the cobblestone roads and water views are chrarming
I spent about two weeks touring South Korea and the people all over the country were super nice. In the city (Seoul and Itawan) most spoke English so we had no problem navigating and hitting some of the local clubs. In the country side and at some of the Temples we had a few language barriers. Several people approached me and played "guess my race". I guess light skinned Bajan Americans arent common in the countryside, most guessed spanish. South Korea has a beautiful landscape, mountains surround you in many places and we had the luxury of boarding a naval ship and touring a few Motor Vehicle Plants. We did so much I can't remember everything. My only regret is not having a travel journal at the time.
I have had the pleasure to visit Jamaica about four times for vacations. I would say it is the most tourist friendly of all the Caribbean countries. Since the country relies so heavily on tourism dollars Jamaicans go out of their way to make sure you're happy. The resorts are very nice and relaxing, but you feel like your locked away and its expensive to taxi out. Many of the smaller hotels provide local cabs and options that are not in the brochure list. We have done everything there is to do on the Island and you cant go wrong when picking an activity. Dunn River Falls is most fun when you attempt to climb without the group guide. The Rum Tours are a good way to start a day of drinking and Jimmy Buffets is a good way to end it. A day in Negril is a must watching the cliff divers and eating at a few of the local stands on the way makes for a nice relaxing day. Driving through the hills of Jamaica watching hundreds of uniformed children walk miles to get to school gives a greater appreciation for the Island.
