If you are looking for a charming hotel and want a local feel for your trip, this is a PERFECT hotel. Breakfast is served every morning by their fabolous staff (Marcus or Ben) and Bolivar can direct you to anyplace you want to go/visit. He also knows all the local night spots. Perfect Location and PERFECT couple's hotel!!! it's located in the old town, so everything is walking distance. They own 4 buildings in the area and their Courtyard Terrace is a perfect spots to get some sun. Don't forget to request that you want your breakfast at the terrace in the main building.
Take the L-1 Bus from Marbella to Puerto Banus $1.15euros and get off at the Cortes de Ingles. On the way back, you'll need to walk toward the other corner of Cortes de Ingles. Take a nice leisurely stroll along the waterfront and rub elbows with all the Rich and Famous Europeans. At the end, you'll see all the oversized yachts and porches and ferraris parked along the road. Grab a cup of Te and enjoy!!
Please note: PUerto Banus is the PARTY CITY CENTRAL. at 12am, this place turns into a crazy party town....
Take a trip from Marbella to Malaga. You'll need to go to Estaciones de Autobuses (bus station) and take a bus to Malaga ($4.45 euros). Once you get there, you'll need to take a cab to Calle Larios. The cab driver will drop you off at the town center where you can take a stroll and go see some of the historic sites that Malaga has to offer. Lot of museums and things to see. If you are short on time, I suggest you take the BIKE TOUR for 60min ($18euros). There are two bike tour guides who can take you around the city in an hour. When you finish, stop by Papa y Pepe restaurant. Great food at low prices.
Take a day trip to Ronda (est 5hr trip)
Go to the Estaciones de Autobuses and buy a ticket to Ronda ($5.35euros).
It's about a 1hr15min bus ride, but the scene is breath taking...Make sure to sit on the bus driver side, since the bus will be hugging he mountain all the way to the top and you'll be able to take in all the beautiful scenery intead of looking at the mountain pass you by.... Once you get to Ronda, go check out the Plaza de Tores and the bridge. Most of the places you visit will ask you for admission fee. We didn't want to pay to go see each attraction, so we just took a nice stroll around the town.... Fun little trip
BEST TAPAS restaurant in town! Make sure to order tapas selecto and let them bring you little tapas plates where you can pick and choose. Their dishes were AMAZING! I've gone to many tapas restaurant in NYC and this place blows them away.... tMust do in Marbella, Spain... Each tapas is about $1.00-$2.00, wine selection is amazing here as well!
Eat with the locals. If you want to feel as if a Grandma from Marbella is making your a fresh dish...this is a MUST. We actually ended up eating here 4 days in a row since it was so good. BEST bargain in town. From the outside, it looks like a hole in the wall, but don't be fooled...their dishes are better than some of the 3-4 star restaurants in town. Talk to Bolivar at La Villa Marbella and he'll direct you...it's a little hard to find, but it's all worth it..
Must have: Paella (Best in town - takes 40min to cook), Squid Salad (big portion), any of their soups are amazing...(home made). all this will cost you less than $30 euros with drinks.... must do in marbella! Please note, they are closed on Thursdays..
Flamenco Bar. Small but charming
