Spend a day traveling around the island of Oahu and discover the history of Pearl Harbor, famous beaches, mountains, and culture of Hawaii.
Inside the Pearl Harbor visitors center you will find information on the attack on Pearl Harbor, a model of the USS Arizona, and even a torpedo that was recovered in the harbor. You will also watch a 15 minute video about the attack on Pearl Harbor and then board the Navy boat that transports you to the USS Arizona Memorial, which is actually out on the water in Pearl Harbor.
The USS Bowfin Submarine can be seen from the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center or you can walk around through the parking lot to get a closer look.
The USS Arizona Memorial honors the military and civilians who lost their lives in the attack on Pearl Harbor. It is a white structure that sits on top of the sunken USS Arizona battleship. The structure dips in the middle, symbolizing initial defeat, and rises at each end, indicating eventual victory for the USA. During a Pearl Harbor tour you will visit the USS Arizona Memorial for about 15 minutes.
The Dole Plantation was originally operated as a fruit stand in the 1950's. Now visitors can tour the plantation, sample various pineapple products, and try to solve the World's largest maze through the pineapple fields. This is a good stop for some food and bathrooms prior to reaching the North Shore.

Haleiwa Town is a nice place to shop and eat before you get to the beaches of the North Shore of Oahu.
An importants stop for any Hawaii Tour guest is Waimea Bay Beach Park on the North Shore. You will see the bay and the beach to your left while driving North along Kamehameha Highway.
The Banzai Pipeline is one of the most famous surfing beaches in the world. If you visit during the Winter months you will see the World's best surfers taking on the biggest waves just 100 yards off the beach
Sunset Point Beach Park is another spectacular beach and surf spot on the North Shore, particularly during sunset
The Laie Point lookout area gives great views of rock formations, the beach below, and the mountains, a perfect spot to take photos
The Polynesian cultural center has separate villages dedicated to teaching visitors about each unique culture. The villages represent the different islands of Polynesia: Hawaii, Aotearoa (New Zealand), Samoa, Tonga, Fiji, and Tahiti.
The Koolau Mountains and Valley might be familiar to you if you have seen the movies Jurassic Park, Pearl Harbor, Godzilla or the TV show Lost. The Koolau Mountain range is the eastern side of the shield volcano that helped form the island of Oahu
Chinaman's Hat (Mokolii Island) is on the Windward side of Oahu in Kaneohe Bay. Another spectacular spot to stop and take photos.
This Buddhist Temple located on the Windward side of Oahu is a replica of the Byodo-in Temple in Uji, Japan. There are koi ponds, gardens, a 3 ton brass bell, and a 9 foot lotus Buddha statue inside
Diamond Head crater is on the South Shore of Oahu and can be seen from most of Honolulu and Waikiki, if you have the time the view from the top is worth the hike
