A quick visit to historic sites, cities and small towns in central Mexico. Fascinating experience to discover the true Mexican culture at its best. Travelling like Mexican tourists.

Great location. This Bed and Breakfast is a great place to stay while you visit Queretaro, Mexico. Located right in the historical part of the city, blocks away from the main plazas, where great restaurants, bars and shopping is located. Shelley is a great host and she will make sure you have everything you need to get around and stay comfortable.
Very nice hotel. Clean for the most part. A bit noisy, since its located in one of the corners of the main plaza of the town. The town does not have much to offer, only the ceramic and pottery products that are hand made. Very typical Mexican town, small and noisy. Very important in Mexican history, since it was here that the independence movement started int he 1800's by Hidalgo.
3. Meson Del Rosario
Great hotel. Only suggestion is that you try to get a room on the left part of the building. I think all the right looks over to a road that could get a bit noisy.
Other than this the location is great and the hotel is clean and nice.
4. Fiesta Americana Leon

Fantastic hotel. Very pricey if you are on a budget. The only reason why we stayed here is because Mexicana airlines gave us a free night at any Fiesta Americana, because we bought our plane tickets with them. one night reserved in advance is about $1800pesos, apprx $180CAD, so you could just imagine the kind of hotel this is. Luxury all around, compared to the other hotels we stayed at. It was definitely a nice break. You could compare it with the Westin. Excelent service, but it will cost you.

Nice hotel, but make sure you get a good room. We were given first a room at the back of the hotel that was scary. Very little and not so cozy, bathroom was horrible and just not good. It looked like a dirty motel room from the movies. So we asked to get a different room and they moved us to a much better room, so don't be afraid to ask for something better if you don't feel comfortable. Be careful in the area. Lots of gay clubs that turned out to be not very nice late at night. Lots of gay prostitution in the surrounding streets. The hotel is 2 blocks away from the main plaza, but late at night those two blocks don't feel as safe as they should, very dark streets and not that many people around.

Great hotel, great price, excellent service. The location is convenient, except for the sea in this area is a bit dangerous. So not so much for kids. But if you go to playa de oro or Miramar, the sea is much better and enjoyable. These beaches are only 10 minutes away by car or 20 by public transportation, which only costs you $5pesos.

Definitely recommend this hotel!

Very nice hotel! the building is awesome, very colonial like. Nice terrace, restaurant, pool.
Great service all together.
8. Hostel Experiencia
Well this is a good place to stay if you are planning on being very bored in Cuernavaca. And also if you want to over pay for what you get, about $350 pesos per person, if you are alone, it's ok, but if you are two people, you could get an actual hotel, with much more comodities for the same $700 pesos and actually stay in downtown.
I was only here for 8 hours, due to some complications traveling from Tasco, I arrived at the hostel at around 10pm on a Saturday, thinking as the website said that I was going to be able to go out at night to the downtown and enjoy a good meal and some drinks. To my surprise the hostel is not 5 blocks away from the downtown but 5 minutes by car. Not at all nice when you are not familiar with the city, is dark out and you have no idea whether you are in a good part of town or not. So we, boyfriend and I, decided to not take the risk and stay there and order some food. Another surprise, on Saturday night, in Cuernavaca, you will find nothing to eat or to be delivered to you. Everything closes early, and if you are lucky enough to find something open, it will be Pizza Hut, which will charge you $150 Mexican pesos for a medium pizza. There is a corner store near by, but it closes at midnight, that night we only found out about this store, 5 minutes after midnight. Definitely not a good experience in Cuernavaca. I'm sure it's a great city if you give it a chance. The next morning we left town right at 8 am, a great cab driver took us on a quick tour to the sites that we missed of the city and I think that was just enough.
