perfect in every way...so glad we didn't stay in a Union Square high-rise!
the one must-see thing to do in San Francisco (of course there are many others)
yes we dragged the kids around to a few wineries and no they didn't enjoy it - but I was not going to just drive by without checking Napa out! This is where we bought the souvenirs.
5. Yosemite National Park
our favorite place in all of California...very awe-inspiring! you are driving through just okay scenery and then happen on this paradise on earth
6. Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park
best place for short hikes and again, beautiful scenery (a little out of the way so probably won't be back but glad we went this time)
well Anaheim and Hollywood - had not planned on going this far south but had a few extra days and decided to take the kids to Disney. we loved seeing the difference from Disneyworld but weren't really impressed with Disneyland at all. Did a quick driving tour of Hollywood and just missed seeing Johnny Depp get his star at the Chinese Theatre by one day!
did not realize how quaint this town was going to be...have to come back another time and stay more than one night! the flowers and colors were unbelievable.
my personal favorite of the entire trip (cross one off my list of must see before I die)...kids loved all the sea lions and seals and we enjoyed several state parks in the Big Sur area. Pictures did not do this place any justice, you just have to see it for yourself!
This is where we spent the most time. We enjoyed the Monterey Aquarium, staying on Cannery Row, the beach and shops of Carmel, Nine Mile Drive, Point Lobos and Asilomar State Parks. Had a blast!
