Orlando for Professionals

Going to Disney doesn't have to be just for the kids-if you've got a conference or meeting there, here's my recommendations for a professional, luxurious good time for executives either on the job or on vacation!

  • Explore locations featured in this Trip List: Disney World, Orlando, Celebration, Mainz
  • Category: Recent trip
  • Traveler type: Sightseeing, Never been before, Repeat visitors
  • Appeals to: Business travelers, Couples/romantics, Singles, Large groups, Tourists
  • Seasons: Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall
  • 1. Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa
    Disney World, Florida

Unfortunately, I didn't stay here on my last trip but will not make that mistake again. Its a stark contrast to the other theme resorts or even the "conference meeting hotels" that claim luxury. The Grand Floridian is impressive, from the moment you drive up and have first rate valet service and then step inside the magnificent lobby. Great restaurants, shops, pool and location to the parks. The monorail makes a stop right there at the hotel-can't beat that!

  • 2. Citricos
    Citricos, Orlando

Restaurant inside the Grand Floridian-a little more lively & loud but relaxed atmosphere (kids and tired tourists are welcome!) but amazing menu and service.

  • 3. Victoria & Albert's
    Victoria & Albert's, Orlando

Get reservations early! This is for the quiet romantic meal or that impressive business dinner to cinch the deal. Amazing wine list and menu-probably the classiest and most exclusive dining you will find within the Disney property

  • 4. Downtown Disney/ Pleasure Island
    Downtown Disney, Celebration, Florida

The night life-or Disney for Adults! House of Blues, Planet Hollywood, dance clubs, comedy club, Cirque de Soliel is all located on the West Side/ Pleasure Island. In the evening, bars are set up right in the streets and a DJ spins from a balcony. There are some great eats in Downtown Disney and if you need to pick up some souveniers for the kids-the East Side has the largest disney shops including an ESPN store, LEGO store, luxurious blown glass & keepsake boutique and more.

  • 5. Wolfgang Puck Cafe
    Wolfgang Puck Cafe, Orlando

Another Great meal! Downstairs is the casual, open kitchen, dining with sushi bar. Upstairs is more refined but anything but traditional. Steaks, seafood and more. Highly recommend the Chinese Chicken salad (as your salad course), the gnocchi (appetizer) and Veal (entree). Desserts-anything goes!

  • 6. Disney's Animal Kingdom
    Eiscafe Florenz, Mainz, Rhineland-Palatinate

You don't have to have the kids to have fun here! The safari is great and you will feel like you've been on an educational but serene vacation to Africa and Asia when you leave. I recommend getting their early. Of course the spring/summer seasons the crowds are unavoidable but if its the only park you go to, don't miss out. I commend Disney for being particularly environmentally and conservatory throughout each detail of the park.
