"This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in - no hot water, no plug in the sink (so we went home as dirty as the hotel after 2 nights!), furniture crammed into a tiny room, no tea/coffee facilities, TV broken, and on a £1 meter!
The sheets were ripped and I couldn't sleep for fear the dirty bedspread and prison issue blanket would touch me!
The hotel smelt, but they had poured super strong loo cleaner down the toilet to try & cover the smell." |

"It WAS that bad. There were insects crawling on the floor, the bathroom looked like someone had been murdered in it and the bedding was so unhygenic looking that I couldn't face lying in it.
STAY AWAY!" |

"The most disgusting filthy hotel I have ever stayed in! We booked for the way out and return from our holiday, but cancelled the return.
When we complained of the filth everywhere the manager AGREED! There is no need for dirtiness. I do not expect miracles in a heavy through traffic hotel, and tiredness of decor is to be expected, but... the rooms were dirty, as was the bar area and the resturant.
NEVER again" |

"We stayed at the whiteleaf at the weekend and it was the worst hotel i have ever seen. We looked at 6 different rooms and they were all very dirty, there were holes everywhere, electrical cables were exposed, ceilings were boarded up above the bed - i could go on! The beds were so unfomfortable and we did not sleep for the noise in the ceiling (pipes os some kind). The breakfast was awful - a stale croissant and a piece of toast served in a dirty room. We had to pay when we arrived before seeing the rooms - do not do this!! Look at the rooms first - or just leave and find somewhere else. I would give it no stars if the option was there." |

"This hotel was absolutely gross. My room absolutely stank of mould and damp, there was a thick layer of dust on the carpet behind the door, and the toilet had definitely not been cleaned in weeks. The en-suite bathroom was like a portaloo (and it smelled like it) that had been dumped in the worlds smallest bedroom. It was five stories with no lift. The TV reception was abysmal, I couldn't bear to have it on it was so crackly. The mattress was so worn there was a spring poking through.
I came in one day to find a man using the shared toilet with the door wide open. This is not a place for anyone with an ounce of decency to stay, please please please stay somewhere else." |

"Stayed here overnight which was long enough. Grubby, threadbare furniture and carpets. Dank, fusty smell in the room. A tea stained kettle with broken lid. Grease marked pillowcase. Dirt which could be collected into a pile. Chipped bathroom sink. But worst of all spiders which were on sentry duty outside our bedroom door and ran up and down a cobweb stretched from ceiling to floor in greeting whenever we approached. Need I say more........" |

"Due to lack of rooms at the nearby stables, I was unfortunately booked into this hotel. The starting point was the stinking reception lobby, quickly followed by smelly lifts, shabby corridors and the pinnacle of the whole experience, the 1960's period bedroom, equipped with authentic wobbly telly on casters, knackered bed and the obligatory mouldy bathroom." |

"This was the most disgusting hotel I have ever seen in - to say it is dirty would be an understatement. Do not under any circumstances be fooled by the hotel photos ( I was and they bear no resemblance to what the Hotel is actually like). We booked to stay for 2 nights and checked out early it was so bad!!! We were greated by a less than friendly man on reception who spent more time outside smoking than he did at his desk, the walls in the corridors have paint peeling from tham as well as dirty hand prints everywhere. In our room we were met with stained mattresses, a broken window, mould and damp patches on the walls, stains on the headboard of the bed and a TV that didn't work!!!" |

"The lift has a cracked mirror with chewing gum stuck to it and to the carpet. There is grafitti carved into the wood by the lift on, I think, the third floor. The carpet on the corridors has holes. Some of it is held in place by gaffer tape. Worst of all the rooms are dirty and badly lit. Stained carpets, stained blankets, dirty sheets. The smell in some of the rooms (we moved) is unspeakable. I could go on. There is no redeeming feature.
We didn't bother with breakfast. Those of our party who did said it matched the rest of the experience. Truly dire." |
