Casita, one bedroom, big enough to house a few kids in the living room. Great hotel main pool and another one by the casitas with 2 hot tubs. Clean and near an upscale neighborhood. Friendly and helpful front desk. Accepts pets.

  • 2. La Fuente
    La Fuente, Tucson, Arizona

Good for quickie and cheap lunch. Lightening lunch specials $5.

  • 3. Cafe Poca Cosa
    Cafe Poca Cosa, Tucson, Arizona

Urban, hip delicious dinner! Modern, updated mexican entrees come with salad and a piece of sliced fruit. Reasonable prices as compared to NE. Great margaritas!

  • 4. El Charro
    El Charro, Tucson, Arizona

Court st location very noisy, lively and fun! Mariachis stroll while you eat your Carne Seca (dry and extremely flavorful mexican brisket taste). Mixed seafood plate also good. Salsas hot and delicious!

  • 5. Old Tucson Studios
    Old Tucson, Tucson, Arizona

12 year old son saw some of the old movies that had been shot there. He enjoyed walking around and panning for gold ("pyrite"). Our tour giude was informative and made the whole experience worthwhile. Short simulated gunfight fun. Skip unless you are with kids who like westerns/Old West or you are an aficianado of the genre.

  • 6. Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum
    Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, Tucson, Arizona

Great outdoor museum! My son said it was the best museum he ever went to (and he typically does not like museums). Combination of native plant and geography lesson as well as live animals in their native environment. My son is an animal lover and likes the outdoors so it really appealed to him.
