1. University of Nebraska - Memorial Stadium
The main reason you're in Lincoln. Memorial Stadium seats 85,000 fans, most of whom will be wearing red. The stadium itself will be the third largest city in Nebraska during the game, and has been sold out for every game since 1962. Depending on the game, you may be able to find tickets for sale on the street, and the price should drop the closer it gets til kickoff. However, if you can, you'll want to be in the stadium for the famed Tunnel Walk when the Huskers take the field.
Nebraska fans are widely recognized as the most hospitable in sports. During the pregame, the Cornhusker Marching Band will play your school's fight song and after the game, the fans will applaud your team as they leave the field. Be friendly, cheer loud for your team, and join us for beverages on O Street after the game. Good luck! |

2. Embassy Suites Lincoln
Ave price:
$124
The best hotel in town is walking distance from the stadium, downtown bars, and the Haymarket District. If that's not enough, they have their own tailgate on the dock out back. Book it early, because it will fill up quick. |

3. Nebraska Bookstore
| On game day, 85,000 Nebraska fans in the stadium, and pretty much everyone else you meet will be wearing red. Even if you don't care for the Cornhuskers, you'll probably want to pick up some souvenirs at the Nebraska Bookstore (13th & Q). The university has it's own shop (Huskers Authentic) across from the stadium, but it's usually shoulder to shoulder on game days, and it doesn't have Nebraska Bookstore's wide selection of shirts, hats, and everything else you can put a Husker logo on. |

4. Misty's Steakhouse (Havelock)
| When you're in Nebraska you must treat yourself to genuine Nebraska beef, and you might as well do it at one of the great old steakhouses. They have a location downtown by the Embassy Suites, but it's worth the drive to the original location in the in Havelock neighborhood. On the night before home games, they have pep rallies with the Nebraska band, cheerleaders, and mascots. The ESPN guys are known to frequent Misty's when they're in town. The prime rib will melt in your mouth. |

5. Sidetrack Tavern
| A must for either the night before the game or the day of. The Sidetrack is dirty, smelly bar that is crammed full of Huskers and visiting fans. Why? Because of the world famous Sidetracks Band: Paul, Joyce, & company play Husker inspired versions of popular songs while you enjoy pitchers of frosty beverages. Note: the language can be a little coarse at times, and you'll be packed in like sardines. |

6. Lazlos Brewery & Grill
Lazlos is not the nicest or fanciest place in Lincoln, but it is one of the best. They have several different homemade beers on tap, and delicious menu of American staples (including the best ribs in Lincoln). The service is outstanding and your meal will be too.
Hint: There are two locations: one in the Haymarket District by the stadium, and one on the southeast side of town. If you have a car, you'll probably save yourself a wait by driving to the south location. |

7. Barry's Bar & Grill
| Any list of Husker Football activities would be incomplete without mentioning Barry's - a large bar close to the stadium. Barry's is usually mentioned in articles and on TV as THE bar to go to on game days. Personally, I don't think it lives up to all of the hype. I think it's location is a big factor in it's popularity - especially amongst my friends who swear they can down a beer at Barry's over halftime and only miss a few minutes of the game. I'd start out there (either before or after the game) and move on if it's not for you. |

8. P.O. Pears
| Pears (as the locals call it) is another sprawling bar and grill that packs in the crowds before and after games, usually with the over 30 crowd. They claim "World Famous Hamburgers", and they are darn tasty. My personal favorite is the Jiffy Burger - 1/3 pound of Nebraska beef, bacon, cheese, and just the right amount of peanut butter. Just the ticket after a Husker victory. Pears almost always has a cover band on weekend nights for less than a $5 cover. |

9. Brewsky's Food & Spirits
| Couldn't get tickets? Want to watch the other big games as well? Brewsky's is a great sports bar in the Haymarket District. They have a huge menu full of excellent food, and the bar has tons of beers on tap. Throw in a several dozen TVs, and it's a great place to watch all the games. |

10. The Watering Hole
Want wings? Don't bother with anywhere else. The Hole has the best wings in town. Big, juicy wings with the perfect amount of heat. I highly recommend the grilled wings - original wings grilled slightly crisp, which seals in the flavor.
If you hit town early enough on Friday, the wings are $0.33 from 4-7 pm. Plus, it is right in the middle of the O Street bars. |
