Relaxing family getaway

  • 1. Seaside

We're curently in Seaside and having the most relaxing time of our lives. Typically booking the fully scheduled holiday to match our fully scheduled day-to-day life, we opted for a "no-agenda" type of holiday. We have not yet been disappointed. A week stay was booked at the Worldmark by Wyndam Season Resort located on the Prom at the Turnaround, both scenic and historic. Gorgeous views matched with impeccable accommodations. While we were staying in a "less than desirable" location in the building, it surpassed most other beach-front properties we have stayed in. Beautiful views, convenient location, and full amenities make this a premier location. Seaside is a perfect destination for just hanging back and just chillin' We would recommend this to other travellers in a heartbeat.

  • 2. Dining

Broadway offered many options for dining - for a hearty breakfast, we enjoyed "Girtles" and for the best seafood, Doogers. The children's menu at Doogers was outstanding. Before coming to Seaside, we had stopped at Clementines in Astoria. An unassuming cafe, but pleasantly surprised by the perfectly prepared seafood.

  • 3. Activities

Each morning, it was easy to escape for a jog along the 3-mile promenade running parrallel to the ocean shore. Circling back, Broadway offered many options for a latte before retreating back to the condo for breakfast. The beach was stunning - walk for miles along sandy beaches, watch the children mine for sand dollars at the ocean's edge or simply take in the refreshing ocean breezes. The whole family took in time at the Day Spa on Broadway. Our 8-year old had a haircut while us parents had a massage - thouroughly rejuvenated. We are still in Seaside and looking forward to a 2-mile hike at Ecola Park and an evening fire on the beach (can you say "S'mores"?)
