Don't wait until Summer to enjoy the shore and avoid being a 'bennie' at all cost! Here's some tips on how to get the most out of your day at Seaside.
While a tourist mecca in the summer, Seaside Heights can be more relaxing and fun during the 'shoulder' seasons of spring and fall. With a wide, sandy beach, miles of boardwalk, mouthwatering food, games of chance, a ton of rides and plenty opportunities to people watch, Seaside Heights is a great place to spend the day.
There's lots of kids in Seaside, but if you want a day for adults only - go for it! There's lots of places to grab a bite and a beer right on the boardwalk. Great place to people watch! Check out the Sawmill, a local's favorite. There's a new Mexican place - Spicy with oceanviews and great food, and there's Jimbos - which has live music. There's a TON of places to choose from, enjoy!
The limited parking in Seaside is one of the reasons Spring is a great time to go! There are new laws concerning the parking meters infront of some homes - they are reserved for the people living there! So, read the signs carefully or you could end up with a ticket. However, metered parking is not enforced until May 1 - so drive right past all the guys trying to wave you into a $5/day lot. Circle around until you find a free spot. In spring, this is easy to do. In summer, this could take HOURS. Just be patient and something will open up. Don't be afraid to park a little out of the way, many of the side streets have great little restaurants and bars... a whole nother aspect of Seaside Heights to explore.
