  • 1. Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies
Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies, Gatlinburg

We LOVED this aquarium!! We got there right as it opened on Sat morning and we did not even have to wait in line. They give an amazing military discount so be sure to ask for it if you have your ID with you. We spent around 2 1/2 hours walking around and could have spent more but it was starting to get crowed and we were hungry. Great play areas for kids and adults. The Mars exibit was a lot of fun. We will be going back with friends soon!

  • 2. Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum
Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum, Gatlinburg

I have been to 2 other BION's in the past with my family so I wanted my husband to have a chance to go. It was a lot of fun and great if you love random and off the wall stuff. There is a great interactive area for kids (and adults!) and they also offer a wonderful military discount!

Great place to take the kids for a day of entertainment!

  • 4. Helicopter Headquarters

My husband is a helicopter pilot in the army so when I told him about this museum he was very excited to go. When you first walk in there are 3 simulators that you can fly an Apache in and shoot down planes. Not very realistic so we decided not to spend the money on them. The price for both of us was over $30 with a mil discount and we were very disappointed in the displays. As a civilian I think it would be great but we were expecting a lot more out of it just because we do know so much about helicopters. One thing we did notice was the information on my husbands aircraft was wrong which was annoying because they should have done better research. It was a nice museum but not worth the money in our opinion.

  • 5. Old Mill
The Old Mill Restaurant, Pigeon Forge

So GOOD!!! We ate here for lunch on Easter and did not even have to wait to be seated. I got the sugar cured ham and my husband got the country fried steak. The service was wonderfull and we did not have to wait long for any of our food.

After eating we decided to walk off our lunch and explored all the little shops around the Mill and stopped into the Creamery for some homemade ice cream! I wanted to get some pecan cobbler but we were just too full from lunch to eat that much! Great place to stop and explore.

  • 6. Smoky Mountain Brewery

Out of all the wonderful food we ate this weekend this was our favorite meal! We shared a rack of ribs and they were amazing! Simply some of the meatiest thickest ribs I've ever had. So tender and the BBQ was just perfect! We had mac and cheese and mashed potatos as our sides and we both walked away stuffed! My husband had a glass of their fresh beer and said it was wonderful. We talked to another couple at the door and they said they come eat there every time they are in Gatlinburg and I don't blame them because we are sure going back!

  • 7. Best Italian Cafe & Pizzeria

Wonderful Italian food. The calzone my husband got was unbelievable! Enough to feed a family! We had tons of leftovers!

  • 8. Mini Golf

We love mini golf but don't take the time to play it often so we had some time to waste on Sun afternoon and played a game of golf in Pigeon Forge at a course called Dr. Huckle, there is a yellow plane and a shipwrecked boat that you can see from the road. It was a fun little course and we enjoyed it!

In Gatlinburg we wanted to play the Blacklight golf and there was a deal where we could play the outside course and the blacklight course for a good price so we did that. We paid at the Family Fun center, it's right off the main strip on the left side of the road right around traffic light 7, I believe. The course going up the side the the mountain was a lot of fun and since it was late in the day on Sun we were the only ones on it so we could goof around without holding anyone up. The black light golf was also fun and we play it again the next time we are in Gatlinburg!
