This is the resort we spent our honeymoon at. It is well kept, clean, and has beautiful landscaping. Good nightly shows/activities, good food choices (Maria's is fabulous!). Very helpful staff. We liked that we didn't feel the need to leave the resort to find a good place to eat or fun place to go. It's in a quieter part of Cancun. Very nice for a honeymoon.

  • 2. Chichen Itza
    Chichen Itza

We did the day long trip to Chichen Itza. It was the best money we spent the whole week! If you are a history buff, you will love it. It is incredible to see how industrious and intelligent the Mayans were. Well worth checking it out.

This the resort I stayed at with friends. It is the busier part of Cancun. Very close to shopping and the big bars. Very nice and clean. Plenty of beach and waves. Lots of activities and fun in the pool area. Three great words: in pool bar. More like a spring break hotel. Good for a large group of single people looking to drink and be out and about.

  • 4. Coco Bongo
    Coco Bongo Cancun, Cancun

This is a super fun bar no matter where you are seated or standing. They have great music, shows, dancers, and lots of booze and fun. THe bar is supposed to be like the bar in the movie The Mask. It's a good time.

  • 5. La Isla Shopping Mall
    La Isla Shopping Mall, Cancun

This a big open air mall in the middle of Cancun. It has a lot of American stores and restaurants if you start missing something from home. They have a nice aquarium and you can also swim with dolphins. They also have a haunted house (that was corny), but none the less fun to go through. There is also a movie theater and a great restaurant called Margaritas. Very cool atmosphere with a mariachi band and the waiters balance all of you food and drinks on their heads as they bring them to your table.

  • 6. Plaza Kukulcan
    Kukulcan Plaza, Cancun

This mall is directly across from the Tucancun Resort. It is a good air conditioned place to stop mid day to get out the heat. It has a lot of clothing and jewelry stores. We found the convenience type store very helpful. It had things like tylenol, American beer, and good cheap souveniers to bring home. There are some good resaurants as well.

  • 7. Senor Frog's

Very fun bar full of energy. Lots of writing on the walls. My favorite scribble was, "It's not the size of the ship, it's the motion of the ocean".Lots drinking contests and crazy dancing. Do a bar hopper package with your resort if possible. It may seem like a lot of money up front, but you can't beat not having to dig out money for a drink and it is the best deal.
