1. Gale River Motel and Cottages
Great family motel with heated pool, outdoor hot tub, indoor jacuzzi, playground, barbecue and picnic area, horseshoes, shuffle board, river access, and acres of lawn to play on...also pet-friendly...
2. Franconia Notch State Park
The Flume Gorge and Cannon Mt. Tramway are "MUST" do attractions...skip the Basin (big granite bowl with water) and Boise Rock (just a chance for the kids to get dirty).
Recreation path offers great biking and hiking with easy access from anywhere in the park...Echo Lake ....cold even in August...easy breathtaking hike up to Artist's Bluff with best view in the White Mountains...
3. Whales Tale Water Park
Excellent water park...something for everyone...new additions include several outdoor hot tubs...Eye of the Storm water ride...7 or 8 slides, wave pool, entertainment....and more...
4. Santa's Village
The "magic" of Santa's Village is really in the winter when it's open just before Christmas with the snow on the ground, the shorter days and the lights, and just the time of year....but for Christmas in shorts it can't be beat...While it's really great for the toddlers and pre-teens...the park is adding more teen-attractive attractions with the Yule Log Ride...You can even pet live reindeer...so cool...
5. Littleton
Great place to shop...Chutter's World Record Holder for Longest Candy Counter...free off street parking...Alakayi...and Village Book Store are must visits.
Trained bears, amazing museum showcases....only drawback is pricey food and gift shop...cut your bill in half by packing a lunch...Train Ride with WolfMan is a must for kids young and old...
