Known as a popular New England ski destination, Stowe offers much more than perfectly groomed slopes. In addition to downhill skiing, there's an extensive network of cross-country trails, plus the opportunity to snowboard and ice-skate. Off-season, the resorts turn their focus to tennis, golf, hiking and spa programs. The town of Stowe is tiny but has a lively restaurant scene and an assortment of specialty shops in the center of town, perfect for those seeking a respite from the slopes or the greens.
