The pool is reserved for platinum users. Not your own person private pool. The platinum suites, according to my research, do not have swim up pools.

You don't have to pay to use the beach. There is a reserved area for the guests in the platinum suites - but the beach is open to all guests. Stop believing everything you hear. Often - these types of things are posted by rival resorts.

You are out to dinner at a table service restaurant. I am sure that if you are in a nice dressy type of t-shirt - you will be ok. Why not step it up a notch though and get a nice polo shirt or button down shirt?

I am going there next week to the Platinum suites area. Looked at the Laguna Villa as well - but I read a couple of reviews that said the potential for mosquitoes is higher there due to the water.

Debbie - if you booked an all-inclusive with your travel agent - it should be included. Best to ask your travel agent as they are the ones that make all the arrangements....not the hotel.

Should we stay with our original booking which is a swim up room or switch to a platinum room?

We went a couple of years ago so this info may be out of date....Yes free weights and a couple of benches - this whole area tended to be in the busy side when we were in there (7am ish). There are a couple of resistance machines but I didn't use those. We enjoyed using the gym - it was clean and they provided towels and bottled water (as well as disinfecting wipes). My son used to go in the afternoon and he would report that it was very quiet at that time. Best wishes

Platinum is worth the upgrade to me. You have a pool that you share with other platinum guest. It also is closest to the beach.

I've stayed in the Laguna Villas and they did have a cable internet connection. I had to hunt for it, but found it next to the bed. I'm not sure where it is located in the other platinum rooms.

I haven't used the cabled Internet there for years because they have wifi now, but I do recall it was fine when I did use it. I would recommend you not rely on the wifi. It works well enough for vacation, but it isn't speedy or work-worthy stable.
