It's mostly a couples resort. I have seen groups of women/men there as well though. I'm not sure booking wise that they allow you book alone, though I haven't known anyone to travel there solo.

Safety wise - no concerns whatsoever, you will be totally safe. It's a beautiful property and incredibly safe.

You cannot use any credits until you are on the Sandal's property. Once there you may go to Island Routes and choose you excursions. We were just there for 2 weeks in Sept 2014 for 2 weeks and we went in several tours and excursions. Most all of the excursions do take some time to get too but you are seeing the island as well. Here are a few that I HIGHLY recommend!!! The Pelican Bar is a MUST, Dunn's River & Falls, Dolphin Cove (ULTIMATE SWIM), YS Falls, The Sunset Cruise, The Booze Cruise, Rick's Cafe and many many more. Also the couples dinner on the beach is a must and we do it at every resort that we travel too. The choice is yours but they are all amazing!!!

Getting an upgrade is not unheard of but getting an upgrade is fully dependent on availability and stars aligning properly. If you chose the Whitehouse for a very specific and special celebration, then you may want to splurge and go for a higher end room. If you plan on maximizing your time outside and away from the room, then go with the lower class room. If your decision is the lower class room, try not to dwell on the hope that you will get an upgrade; it will not be the end of the world and I promise you will have an awesome time!

We tipped the driver to and from the resort because they make it very obvious they don't work for sandals. I think we tipped them like $5 each. But at the resort you do not need to worry about tipping. Relax and enjoy!
