Effortless bike hire and very friendly service. Very convenient. Highly recommended. Would use them again.

We had a fun day out at the AquaShow in Vilamoura with our 3-year old daughter, so we stayed around the splash park section, which was enjoyed and had several small slides, as well as slides that could be accompanied by adults. A life guard was standing watch as well, which was reassuring.
The splash park had some wear and tear, with some paint peeling and steps being repainted in several layers of different coloured paint but no accidents were made and it was a safe space to play.
We ventured to the main pool with the wave maker for a short period too. Nice length of time in-between the waves and our daughter enjoyed playing in the shallow area. The waves were a little too much for her but it was enjoyed by everyone else there.

This small museum within walking distance of Vilamoura Marina is a world away from the noisy tourist trail. It contains the ruined outlines of several antique houses and some floor mosaics outdoors, and a small exhibit indoors. The entrance fee was only €2.00 per retired visitor and at that price one must say it was value for money.

This was a lovely collection of sand, demarking the line between the land and the sea. Someone was flying a hexagonal kite there when I was there.

We were lucky enough to be staying about 2 minutes from this beach, which is superb.
Great access, wooden walkways giving an easy route along the beach, and a beach bar every 100 metres or so.
Waves quite big so you need to be a reasonable swimmer to cope. Plenty of sun beds for hire, but we thought they were quite expensive.

We had time to kill before our early evening flight home, so we made a trip to Quarteira and especially to the Calcadao de Quarteira where we spent time on the beach - hired some loungers and then took a stroll for lunch. It was peaceful for a Saturday; wasn't packed and as the beach stretches so far, it didn't feel crowded with others lounging too.

All the good things we'd heard about this course proved to be true. It's tough but fair with many tree-lined fairways and single trees guarding the entrance to several greens. I'd say you need to play it several times to work out where not to go, but that didn't detract from the enjoyment of playing a well-designed, well-maintained course. Tees, fairways and greens all in very good condition. Helpful staff and a nice even pace of play.

This market must be better in warmer months. Go only when you wish to get clothes or shoes or knick knacks. No food. Historic site just at the roundabout where there used to be a fountain for local women to wash their clothes.

Very difficult to find as it is quite a way outside Vilamoura but if you want a nice secluded place for a peaceful game of bowls contact Amadeus and book an hour play for €10.
It is about 1.5 miles out of Vilamoura in the opening between the main carriageway and some high rise dwellings, we seemed to walk for ever before we found it and local Vilamourans have never heard of it so asking the way is not great, one green seems to be out of use due to Ring Disease which I am sure the owners are treating as it is a very infectious disease and easily spread to other bowling greens just by walking on it.
