What travelers are saying
- David NBrisbane, Australia1,705 contributionsThis castle is absolutely beautiful and quite magnificent. There is so much history throughout the many rooms and the cathedral. We did a fantastic tour of the castle and cathedral but know there is so much more we could have seen but it would take so much time. Certainly a must do while in DenmarkWritten September 28, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Gardengel-IoWWest Sussex, UK810 contributionsInteresting experience. Cant say I was a lover of the art installation but presume that changes throughout the year. Generally, a bit too dark to be comfortable. You do have to be really careful of foot placement so you don’t miss the boards and step in the water. For the installation I would have given and average mark but as setting is so unique scored a bit higher. The installation will change occasionally.Written November 7, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- lenemikeRoskilde, Denmark431 contributionsIn the 1980s I studied at the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University (KVL as it was called then...), but rarely went into the gardens. Subsequently I have discovered that these gardens are very attractive, tranquil, well kept and highly enjoyable particularly on sunny days. There are always lots of families admiring the flowerbeds and relaxing with picnics on the grass. The towering trees are very beautiful too. In the summer there's a small café in one of the glasshouses, called "Væksthuset", which serves drinks and snacks. It's worth a detour to find this delightful oasis in the brick and concrete desert of the city!Written June 5, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Travelling SistersEssex, UK10 contributionsNice zoo to walk around was very clean and was not hit with the typical zoo smell we have encountered
Before at other zoos around the world.
Nice selection of animals but particularly the pandas, tigers and lions.
It was nice to see the tigers and lions in an enclosure without the typical bars sounding them but were in safe open moat style areas which was fab as you felt you were so close to them but still safe.
Would recommend a visit.Written February 6, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. One such is the imaginative Cisternerne, an art gallery underground in the former water cisterns.
Grand pathways make for relaxing strolls wending the way along by the majestic trees.Written September 18, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Rachel T4 contributionsHad a massage with the owner Eddy today - I think he has magic hands!! The massage was completely bespoke to my needs, he took great care and attention and I never felt rushed at all. He has supremely good customer service and seems like one of life’s genuinely kind people. Even chocolate and tea included. Could not rate it more highly! Only downside is that I don’t live closer otherwise I’d be here all the time!!Written December 11, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - wam525Baltimore, MD26 contributionsIf you have any interest in musical instruments, this is a terrific place to visit. One of the highlights of our visit to Copenhagen. it traces the different musical instruments humans have used throughout history. The admission includes an iPad with information in English, and even better, there are many minutes of excerpts of people playing the old instruments you can see. This is very well done, and it's easy to spend a few hours here. In October it was only open on weekends, so keep this in mind. Don't miss it. It's also especially good for children, as there is a room where they can try different instruments.Written November 14, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - permiaIreland40,931 contributionsBy the celebrated Starchitect, this adds to an oeuvre that includes landmarks such as vast airports.
For the comfort of the population of Indian elephants, it is an imposing edifice on the zoo skyline. It dates from around 2008.Written September 17, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Catriona HTeddington, UK1,217 contributionsWe stopped here while we were at the Carlsberg brewery. Not a very big place but interesting with the links to famous writers. - permiaIreland40,931 contributionsAn impressive and gorgeous aspect is presented by the grand place of worship. Octagonal and in Baroque style it is a landmark in the municipality.
Dating from the early 1730s it has the claim of being the oldest church building in the district. Inside is tranquil and is relatively plain. An exception being the grand altar area with its columns and maritime themed ornate tribute atop.
A memorial to the famous poet and playwright Adam Oehlenschläger is prominent, and he is buried in the adjoining cemetery.Written December 31, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
