Despite being nervous because it is a village that is steeped in controversy since the tragic disappearance of Madeleine McCann, we found this to be a really lovely place to holiday, even with a young child. It has a lovely beach, really nice restaurants and a very f..."riendly atmosphere among locals and tourists. The nightlife is very tame, which suited us fine. As a result it tends to be frequented by older couples and families. IT wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea for that reason but if you are looking for a holiday in a small, pretty town, this is a great place to stay. Be aware that there are a few hills around, sometimes right beside some of the good restaurants. My aging parents found this challenging some days, but nonetheless they loved the area. " More >
