"This is a really great place to 'get away from it all' in the mountains of the DR. It is far away from the business and noise you find in the towns, mostly what you hear up there are the birds singing and the wind in the trees. The camping area has two covered shelters for sleeping, hanging a hamm..."ock, reading a book, playing cards, etc. There are also a covered kitchen and dining areas with picnic benches so you can stay dry no matter the weather. There are numerous hiking possibilities, with shorter ones around the coffee or up to a climbing rock with anchors, or a little longer one to a nice waterfall. And finally, there is a really fun and well designed mountain biking downhill course that is a real treat if you are a cycling enthusiast. There is no other place like it in the DR.

"Estancia Natura is a one-of-a-kind mountain getaway in the Dominican Republic. I've stayed here twice, and each visit was great. There were plenty of activities to keep us busy during the day. We repelled, mountain biked, played paintball, swung on the giant swing, and zip-lined. Moreover, the bric..."k pizza oven and well-stocked kitchen provided excellent dining opportunities. We were able to relax by the fire pit at night, and the covered shelters provided a comfortable night's rest in our hammocks. I highly recommend this destination.

The upper falls is called Salto de Jimenoa 1 and is approached from the west, off the Jarabacoa to Constanza road. The lo..."wer falls, Salto de Jimenoa 2 is approached from the north and east, coming in off the Federico Basilis road from Jarabacoa - La Vega road, past the Jarabacoa golf course. You can go directly between the two falls on a very treacherous trail, not recommended. Having them listed as one on TripAdvisor is going to confuse many people.
This is a review of Salto de Jimenoa 1, the upper falls. This was one of the locations used in the film Jurassic Park. There is an entrance fee here. I think it was 100 pesos ($2.50), and young children were free. There is a gate at the steep entrance to the parking area off the highway. Just to the right of the gate is a little booth where they collect ...
