The changes in recent years to a number of holes, as well as a new driving range & practice facility compliment the tree lined fairways and great mountain views golfers have enjoyed for decades. 2013 Marks the beginning of a new era at HGC. Many on course and service related improvements will continue to be made to enhance your overall experience. The new clubhouse (opened in 2011) provides members and guests with an amazing panoramic view to accompany their meal and time with friends. We look forward to your next visit as HGC is always worth the drive! « less

The graceful ruins of the coal processing plant mingle with fragrant trees, flowers and grasses alongside a bubbling brook, with a spectacular Rocky Mountain backdrop. Leitch Collieries was one of the largest and most ambitious mines in the early history of the Crowsnest Pass. Established in 1907, it was the only coal company in the Crowsnest Pass that was completely Canadian owned and operated. Leitch Collieries was in operation until 1915. Visitors can tour the ruins of the coke ovens, washery, tipple, powerhouse and mine manager’s house. Storyboards and listening posts on site bring to life the events of yesterday. Picnic areas, washrooms, water and a dog run enhance the stop for travelers. « less

The course was founded in 1981 and sports a well designed layout that caters to all levels of ability. It is well maintained throughout and features rolling fairways bordered by tall stands of pine and spruce. Most holes have large, undulating greens and staggered tee boxes which allow golfers to alter the look of the holes. The course is one of the most stunning in the province, offering breathtaking mountain views from every hole. You may even be lucky enough to spot a Bald, or Golden Eagle flying overhead. Some are said to nest around that area. Foxes, deer, elk, and moose have also been sighted in the area. « less
