Ohope International Golf Club is rated one of the top links courses in New Zealand. No matter how bad the golf is, the magnificent views from the course make up for any bad golf. Whether it be watching the active volcanic, White Island smokin', the scenic coastline visible all the way to East Cape, or watching the kayaks racing in the Ohope Harbour. Imagine the scenery when having your wedding reception at the club, the views would only be surpassed by the beautiful bride. Weddings, Birthdays, Anniversaries or just a social function, we can cater for them all. For any inquiry regarding golf, social functions, or just having a quiet social beverage, contact any one of our team at the club.

Have you ever wanted to Party like a Pirate? Well now here's your chance...Plot your course to the perfect night out for your crew of friends or colleagues and discover the hilarious comedy dinner show currently taking New Zealand by storm. Pirates of the Pacific is a truly unique and original, swashbuckling night of fun and adventure exclusive to the Bay of Plenty.Follow the legend of the infamous Pirate Lord - Captain Black Jack Tui who summons you, as honoured "Lords and Ladies of the Pacific" to the mother of all Pirate Parties! A contest that will decide who will take his place as the next Pirate King. Featuring adult content, improvisation, deliciously rude jokes and "pirate humour" no two shows are ever the same and run at approximately 3 hours in length with time for you to enjoy your fabulous 3 course pirate banquet which is included in your ticket price. Of course a cash bar is always available! As the plot and the evening unfolds you'll make new friends as you mingle with fellow "shipmates", and come face to face with some hilarious and colourful characters. After the show you can even stay and "Party like a Pirate" with music and dancing until Midnight.

"We come here on holiday every year and it is just a fantastic place,we always visit outside the xmas holiday period as it is so busy then.
You can go for a walk along the beach holding hands with your loved one and bare feet are a must or go for a walk at the northern end and you can follow the tra..."ck around to Orokawa Bay which is beautiful, good shoes and a camera are a must. There are toilets at the beach and at the other end of the track walk but smaller children will not like the walk as it is quite a way.
There is plenty of parking and if you feel like a coffee and something to eat visit the Flat white cafe in Shaw Road it is superb.

"Make sure you include this in your NZ North Island east coast travels.
Most amazing usually safe beach with beautiful white sand. Slightly off the usual tourist track, and quiet.
Visit the north end and from there take the 45 min walk to Orokawa Bay.
Only accessable by foot this is a glimpse of ..."what the Coastline would have been before civilization. Swimming at this beach is not advised as there is usually an undertow. Surfers often carry their boards over to enjoy the waves
Travel to the south end of Waihi Beach and wander around the Bowentown point and view the other entrance to the Tauranga Harbour and Matakana Island.
Don't forget to then travel to Tauranga and onto Mount Maunganui and walk around or up the mount Amazing views on a clear day.
Treat yourselves to fish and chips at the Dive Cresent fish shop on the old wharf in Tauranga after. Rustic and basic, but the best fish and chips in NZ

"So worth the drive! You'll need to purchase a permit to travel on the forestry road, but this is easily obtained for $5 from the Kawerau Information Centre. It's a bit of a drive but the forestry road to the falls is in good condition; bonus: spotted a colony of wild local wallabies off on one of th..."e side roads. The walk itself is beautiful, the river is so clear and jewel-like, and the falls themselves are among the best in NZ. An incredible place.
