"It took us a while to find it but it was quite interesting to find an egyptian vase,it's incredible tha amount of civilisations that visited Almunecar"
"We visited the Castillo San Miguel first and were informed our tickets would allow is entrance into this museum as well. So after the castle we took the short (5-minute) walk over the museum. It is a series of seven vaults built in Phonecian times. The floor is exposed so you can see the foundation ..."of the building, and artifacts are displayed in glass cases. It's very interesting but tiny, unless you are a real archeology buff it will only take 10-20 minutes. Worth visiting as in conjunction with the castle.

"Museo del Bonsai, from the outside, seems small, but it is beautifully laid-out thanks to the terraced garden style, and it is a spot of piece, tranquility and meditation in the otherwise (in the summer) busy Andalusian seaside resort of Almunecar.
The entrance is not free of charge (adults 2 €, c..."hildren 1 €), and if you're not sure if it's worth your money, if you pass by the fence from the above of the garden (descending down from the Casco Antiquo), take a peek and decide whether to visit it or not (attention, that street is steep!).
I'm positive that, once you see how green and beautifully composed it is, you will wish to visit it. It is well-worth the money, and it will provide you with the green shelter during the hottest hours of the day (in the morning, it is open, if I recall correctly, from 10 1.m. until 2 p.m.). We were there around 11:00 a.m.
