"I was drawn to this site because it was the original location of the Woolworth's lunch counter sit-in. We were dismayed to read that, like most museums, it was closed on Mondays, and we were leaving Tuesday morning. We happened to walk by just to look, and lo and behold they have summer hours on M..."ondays! We were excited, and went right in, where we were greeted by friendly staff who put us right on a tour that was in progress. The tours continue one after the other, so we simply followed along until we reached our original beginning point, and got to see everything. The tour guides were really good and they knew their history and were truly inspiring. They were both young and enthusiastic. The exhibits themselves are extremely well-done and informative. There were parts of the tour that were very chilling, and other parts that were heartwarming...it was hard to believe we were standing in the actual room where American history was made, in my lifetime. "We love Bur Mil. My kids love going to Wet and Wild but being a family on a budget, we can usually only go once a summer. Bur Mil is the next best thing. My littlest ones love the slide while my big one loves the diving board. All around family fun!!"
