Combination museum, library and educational center explores works of art and historical documents that represent Brooklyn's diverse cultures and society, past and present.

Recently re-opened after extensive renovations, the museum contains one hundred years of transit lore and memorabilia. Housed in an authentic 1930's subway station, the new galleries and exhibits, many of which have interactive components, will thrill transportation and history buffs alike.

In this high-tech fun-filled museum you won't find any "do not touch" or "keep off" signs. Children are encouraged to make full use of the creative, hands-on exhibits such as a Sabbath dinner table big enough to walk on, a working television newsroom where they can file a report on the Chanukah story, a supermarket and kitchen where the rules of kosher come alive though role-play, and a cityscape where faith, charity, and other concepts are presented in "real-life" settings.

A wonderful place to spend the day with the family, this museum houses a remarkable, kid-friendly collection of 20,000 cultural artifacts and natural history specimens, plus live plants and animals, and award-winning exhibitions.

This sideshow has the usual sword-swallower and bed-of-nails artist, plus other unique players.

Library contains more than 2,000 volumes on Kurdish history, culture and contemporary society, and the adjoining museum features traditional dress and collections of village jewelry from Turkey, Iraq and Iran.
