The Chambers House was built in 1906. In 1914, C. Homer and Edith Fuller Chambers purchased the house and moved in with their two daughters, Ruth who was 12 years old and Florence who was 2 years old. Ruth and Florence never married and lived in the house after Mr. & Mrs. Chambers passed away. After Florence's death in May of 2004, the Beaumont Heritage Society got the first glimpse of the interior of the house. It was a treasure trove of furniture, personal items and artifacts that had survived nearly 100 years. Although it has been referred to as a restoration, it really is a conservation project since nothing had been changed in nearly 100 years. Entering the house is truly like stepping back in time.Hours are Tuesday - Friday, 10am-3pm and Saturday, 10am-2pm. Admission is $3 for adults, $2 for seniors, and $1 for students.

The John Jay French Museum demonstrates the life of a prosperous Texas pioneer family from 1845 to 1865. The historic pioneer settlement, built by John Jay French, tanner and merchant, is replete with antique furnishings, clothing and pioneer household utensils. Outbuildings on the grounds include a blacksmith shop, tannery, privy, and smokehouse. The John Jay French house is the oldest house in Beaumont that has been restored to it's original state. Built in 1845, the home is one of the first two-story homes, one of the first made with milled lumber, and one of the first painted homes in the area. Hours are Tuesday through Friday, 10am to 3pm and Saturday, 10am to 2pm. Admission is $3 for adults, $2 for seniors, and $1 for students.

"This isn't a bad place to visit. The only thing negative, and its not the business' fault, it when small kids hurry through the course and interfere with your playing. Sometimes it is nice to play at a slow pace and not feel rushed.
There are plenty of arcade games to play but can get expensive if..." the kids can't control themselves.

"This is a neat place to visit. The scenery is wonderful and at times peaceful.
If you are holding a gathering here, hire an off duty police officer or two. The park can sometime attract the less desirable and a criminal element.
If you visit during the day, then there should not be a problem at a..."ll.

Gator Country Wildlife Adventure Park and Restaurant
"It is always pleasurable visiting Gator Country and you can even enjoy a good meal. The staff is good at giving tours but some of the male employees seem somewhat arrogant at times. I've been here with my family several times and they have not changed.
I would recommend to take the kids, but just ..."ignore some the staff when they try to show off.
