"The Santa Elena Canyon in Big Bend National Park is a beautiful canyon, and is where the Rio Grand River enters Big Bend National Park. You can hike into the canyon or explore the Texas side of the river."
"This park definitely does not get enough credit. We decided to go camping for our Thanksgiving break. With no available reservation we took a risk in driving 8 hours hoping to get a first come first serve site. Thankfully we found one site in the Rio Grande Campground. Site #22 was a great camping s..."ite surrounded by mesquite trees seemed almost like you had partitions from all the other campsites. This helped with the strong winds that we got that night. Talking with the park ranger we found out that a tent was lost to Mexico the night before due to the strong winds. The campsite is near the restrooms, a closet like room to wash your dishes, and water fill up station for drinking water. The scary part was the odd looking spider clinging to the top of the dish washing room. We weren’t able to figure out what kind of spider it was but it didn’t seem to mind all the people coming to wash their dishes. "Go there if in terlingua! It's a restaurant in a cave. Full bar, good food! It's definitely an interesting place. How often do you get the nance to eat dinner in a cave!!"
