"Took my two grandsons & my 2 younger kids (teens) to visit the zoo at Ft. Chiswell. Very friendly staff quickly assisted us, and we only had to wait about 5 minutes for the bus that takes you through the acreage that contains the "wilder" animals. You'll see zebras, water buffalo, an American buf..."falo, camels, ostriches and wildebeests among others. We were able to feed most of the animals, which would approach the bus. Be prepared for a "close encounter"! The petting area is especially good for little ones, with animals that are less intimidating. :) There is a nice little gift shop and snacks and drinks available. It cost $46 for 3 adults, 1 child, & 1 free 2-year-old. Animal feed is available for $5 for a decent sized bag. Enjoyable.

"We stopped on a Monday, with terrible rainy weather, and not surprisingly the place was empty. We liked the wines, and the gift shop is very nice. They also have a dining area where they cater food on weekends. The staff was the friendliest, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that the weathe..."r sucked and we were probably the only people he saw all day. This winery is worth a visit, just be sure to do it on a sunny weekend!

"This tasting/diner activity was arranged by our company as part of a week long conference. After a long day of meetings and lectures, this was a well planned outing. The place is beautiful and the country setting invites to relax. First we had a wine tasting, appetizer and mingle activity. The w..."ine was very good and I sampled several of them. Later we were seated in their large room to enjoy a catered dinner and some more wine ! Service was excellent.
The owner and the staff really went overboard to make this a great experience and evening. Many of us took the opportunity to purchase some bottles of wine a souvenirs from the gift store. I will go back without any hesitation. Cheers !!
