The Commissioner’s House has been nicely restored with lots of rooms upstairs and downstairs filled with well laid-out exhibits. If one was inclined, it would be difficult to skip through because the information and stories are all quite riveting. The cannons are still in place and aimed out to sea, and with the other fortifications to crawl over and around, the whole site lends itself easily to envisioning the repelling of the bad guys. In one of the ancillary buildings down by the Dolphin pen, I discovered what I would consider a very good display of the history of the Bermuda Electrical Power system. My wife wasn't as excite... Some people are hesitant to book with tour guides who are not affiliated with cruise ships but I don't understand why. You will not only save mone..."y but you can also have a unique personalized experience without a crazy crowd. The captain/ tour guide/ educator/ philosopher was amazing. He imparted wisdom both about his subject (marine life), the island, and life in general. He was well read, well spoken, extremely informative, funny, and most importantly patient with people of all ages and abilities. This was really the highlight of my trip and the best part is it was a cake walk well more like a reef but nevertheless it was easy. The group was small enough that everyone recieved individual attention and nobody was left out. The "dive" was easy on my ears which is very important since one was ruptured during a previous vacation.... " More >
