We are permitted by the city and fall under the "jitney" ordinance. We are the first jitney in Houston in 15 years and the only permitted service with a fleet of vehicles. The Wave is a safer, more convenient and more efficient alternative to driving from place to place and makes it easy to explore Houston. We are here to make sure the Washington Corridor, Midtown, The Heights, River Oaks, Rice Village, Downtown, East Downtown, Upper Kirby/Shepherd, Montrose and other similar areas remain viable places to live, work, shop, eat, and play for now and for many years to come. For the visitors to the great City of Houston, we make ease of movement something you do not have to worry about. The Waves…- Very nice 15-passenger buses - Costs $10 for an unlimited one-night pass along one route or $15 for an all access all night pass*- Have a few designated stops but can stop anywhere along the routes- Offer 2 FREE parking lots: You can leave your car overnight on Fridays and Saturdays and not get towed. There is a taxi stand in one of the parking lots.- Has event coordinating services to help plan an event*Subject to change. How to Ride The Waves1. Park in one of our parking lots or just catch us on the route. 2. Signal the Wave Runner when The Wave is approaching or call (713) 863-WAVE to get picked up. 3. Please have exact fare or pass available. (credit cards now accepted) 4. Let the Wave Runner know where you would like to get off along the route. If you have a big event planned, please reach out to us if you might need parking or transportation services. The jitneys are perfect for bachelor or bachelorette parties, birthdays, girl’s night out, corporate events, theater nights, charity events, etc. For big groups email events@thehoustonwave.com and we will see what we can do to make your event more memorable. Please give us feedback, input, & suggestions. The good thing about small business is; if there is a need and we will try to fill it. « less
