"I visited the museum this past weekend with my 5 year old son, brother and mom. We had been there a few years ago when the had Sue the dinosaur on display and had been wanting to visit again since my son was older. I now live in middle Tennessee and it finally worked out that on our visit "home" we ..."finally got to go again. I grew up about 2 miles from here and can actually see the museum from my mom's backyard. The displays are very nice and lots of great information. I am not the type to read every little thing or listen to info on the phones, and it was still very informative. Fun stuff for the kids, my 5 year old said it was more fun that he thought it would be and called it awesome when he was talking about it later. They don't dig in the winter so we definitely want to go back in the summer so he can see that process. We just went through on our own, and weren't part of a tour, next time it might be nice to be part of a group. Definitely something for Gray to be proud of!!

"Despite not having dinosaurs, this fossil museum is worth visiting. This site is the largest site for mammals fossils in Tennessee. They are actually doing a fantastic jobs excavating, cleaning, sorting and cataloging the specimen with a turn-around of more than a 100 persons there. This is really s..."omething. The exhibits are well arranged and give hands-on activities for small and big kids. There are also some special activities organized throughout the year. The time we visited, we could mold our own fossils (my 3 year old was so excited). Really a wonderful small museum.

"This is a very modern and well-kept museum (only 12 years old). You will see the fossils and bones that have been dug from the ground about 100 yards from the museum door. You can walk out to see the dig itself - very short walk. There is a short informational movie and interactive displays for a..."dults and kids. Very worthwhile to visit.
