"We were here after 5pm and strolled the street virtually to ourselves. There are pro's and con's to this. Some place may have been closed (we didn't notice) but we got to see the town without throngs of tourists. This worked out well for what we like, but I bet it's pretty cool when it's crowded ..."as well. Beautiful downtown I hope they continue to make it as historical as possible. It's already amazing but whatever can be done to bring this back to the old gold mining days would be great. Really beautiful place...and the history just adds to it all.

"Great variety of wine and friendly staff to make you feel comfortable no matter your familiarity with wine. Best part, good friends sunning on the patio with a glass of wine and Frank Sinatra tunes. "
"This was just fantastic. I have never seen anything like it, everything is well preserved including the 80 year old cookies in the kitchen!! The tour guide was young but incredibly knowledgeable, she made it so very interesting!! You will not be disappointed, I think the tickets were $7 (or $6 for s..."eniors) and it is honestly worth twice that price. Tours run for 45 mins and start every half an hour. At first I thought 45 mins would be way too long however once you walk through the front door of the house, you get caught up in the history and it goes very quickly. This was the best attraction in Deadwood in my opinion.
