Coventry Attractions: What to do & Places to Visit in Coventry
"I have visited vineyard all over the world and upon pulling up to ShelaLara was instantly skeptical. The winery is in a steel warehouse, whereas I'm used to wineries being this vast field of grapes with gorgeous views and buildings. Despite my skepticism I figured that I was there any way so might ..."as well give it a go and I'm happy I did!
First off the owners a fabulous they really know their trade and are willing to answer any questions both during the tour or during the tasting. That being said I believe some of the staff needs a little training on the art of wine making when one of the girls was going around pouring the wine my fiance asked her a simple question on the wine she was describing she responded with "I don't know anything about the wine I just pour it". If you are pouring something and describing it to me you should be able to answer questions about it or at the very least go get the answer and come back to me with it.

"This was a delightful experience. The vineyard is owned and operated by a family -a mother, Shiela, and her two sons, Andrew and Jason. The guests, as that is how you are made to feel, initially sit at tables for 6 where slushes are sampled - all wine, frozen. Then son Andrew leads everyone to th..."e large warehouse-type room with all the brewing and bottling equipment, and explains how it all works. Everyone then returns to the tables for some serious tasting. There was sampling of a dozen different wines, served with crackers, cheeses, and small pizzas. Shiela chatted with the people at each table, and made sure they all had plenty of food and wine. Seconds were available on everything. It is a lovely way to spend an afternoon, and well worth the entry fee.

"We totally enjoyed two hours of slushy wine, a tour (15 minutes and very informative), and tastings of about 12 different wines. There were crackers & cheese at the table, as well as delicious pizza chips! LOVED those pizza chips. They save the best part to the end ... the frozen chocolate strawb..."erry wine smoothie!!! Thankfully, they give the recipe for this when you leave!!
The wine is mostly fruity, which we don't drink often, but when they taught us how to make slushy's out of it! WOW! I took a cleaned out plastic milk container, poured a bottle in it and put it in the freezer for a couple of days. Take it out and wait about 20 mins. Shake and voila! Wine slushies!! Would probably be even better if we put it in a blender, but it was pretty good as is. We bought a bunch of bottles of all different kinds. Can't wait for the real summer to start and enjoy them on the deck!! YUMMY!
We were actually surprised when we walked into the warehouse type of building. We'...
