Punxsutawney Attractions: What to do & Places to Visit in Punxsutawney
"It was so much fun, standing, singing and dancing with my fellow spectators, waiting for the all important arrival of Punxsutawney Phil! They have done some reshaping and "construction" this past year and the Knob is set up like a stadium, so it gradually goes up, the farther you get away from the ..."stage, making every spot a good one to see the stage! (unless you stand behind a 6'5" guy like I did, ha ha) They also have food and hot drinks for sale in the back, and thankfully, a warm up tent to stand in when you get too cold. Overall, it was an excellent experience and one I recommend to all!

"If you visit on Groundhog Day, you should bundle up and attend the event up at the Knob. It's one of those "look what I did" things. But, to go any other day, there is not much to see. You see the stage and the stump where they keep Phil (the Groundhog), but that's about it. You can walk around in t..."he woods. There is a building there that can be rented out for events and such, but as for visitors, this isn't a hot spot.

The experience of going to see Phil was way more involving than we ever thought it would be. Wake up at 3am, drive to Punxy, get on a shuttle bus ($5 per person for return trip) to Gobbler's Knob and wait for hours in absolutely freezing weather: was 1 when we got there, warmed up to 8 by the time Phil came out.
But by getting there early, we were able to get a very good spot, being able to see and hear everything that was going on on the stage. The music kept us dancing, which prevented us from freezing to death :-)
As time goes by, people gathered behind us, 35,000-40,000 of them... Amazing!! At...
