  "My wife and I had been talking about going to Punxy for a few years for Groundhog Day, so when it fell on a weekend this year, we decided to take the 5-6 hour drive to PA to find out first hand whether we'd get early spring. The town is so packed on those days, so unless you book a place 1 or 2 yea..."rs ahead of time, you'll have to stay in a neighbor town. In our case, 30-40 minutes away... The experience of going to see Phil was way more involving than we ever thought it would be. Wake up at 3am, drive to Punxy, get on a shuttle bus ($5 per person for return trip) to Gobbler's Knob and wait for hours in absolutely freezing weather: was 1 when we got there, warmed up to 8 by the time Phil came out. But by getting there early, we were able to get a very good spot, being able to see and hear everything that was going on on the stage.
