The Garden also boasts a Children's Garden, which is sure to keep the little ones entertained.Take a complimentary, 30-minute narrated tour of the Garden, aboard the Tram in the spring and summer months. The Garden also features a Visitor's Center, Cafe and Gift Shop, perfect for grabbing lunch or purchasing souvenirs. The Garden is the perfect setting for weddings and receptions, company events and family reunions. On-site is also the Gordon House, the only Frank Lloyd Wright home in the state.

"If you like covered bridges and are in the area, it is worth the drive to see the Gallon House Bridge. We have visited Oregon several times over the years but it was only last year that we discovered the state was the home to a number of covered bridges. On one hand it is nice that they aren't well ..."advertised as the couple that we have seen have been very peaceful and easy to view due to the lack of traffic but, on the other hand, people are missing an opportunity to see a little bit of the past. Even on a cloudy day like we had, this bridge is picturesque and it is nice to see that it is well maintained.

"This is a big garden with a lot of different walkways which makes it a little awkward for negotiating. It is a good idea to take the free tram which gives a good overview of the garden with some background information on the various areas. There are a lot of lovely flowers and unique little areas al..."though when we visited, a fair amount of spring planting was still taking place so some areas were a little sparse. We understand that a lot of the work is done by a large group of volunteers - they are doing a great job. As we were staying in Salem, it was worth the short trip out to visit.
