Fort Meigs is a battlefield from the War of 1812 and is celebrating it's 200th anniversary this year. The story of the two separate sieges of this fort by the British, Canadians and Native Americans are told in quotations from the men who defended the fort. There is a perfect mixture of text and artifacts and displays that give insight into what life would have been like inside the fort during the battles. One example is a "wheel of fortune" that the visitor can spin to determine what one might have died of during that period, from lockjaw to ague to bullet wounds .
