Steam train gives a 3 mile return trip along the side of Historic Rudyard Lake. This is the best way to see the beautiful lake and get to its attractions. The lake is where poet Rudyard Kipling's parents met at a picnic and named their child after the spot. Its an unspoilt place great for a family day out or picnic

"Attending the evening with The Steve Gibbons Band on Friday and what a great evening we had. it started with dinner in the Foxlowe at 7pm, The food was amazing and great value for money, well worth a visit. the evening was filled with great music."
"Tittesworth reservoir is a beautiful unspoilt area of natural beauty.Excellent facilities and the walks are amazing.Ideal for families and dog walkers alike. If the sun shines take a picnic and spend the day lazing by the water."
"Visited the Rudyard Lake line in 2012. Its a 10.25 inch gauge steam railway - not sure if that makes it narrow gauge or miniature? Anyway, the carriages are surprisingly roomy and the whole thing is run very prefessionally. The trip is 1.5 miles long and for most of its length it runs alongside Rudy..."ard Lake, affording excellent scenic views. Staff were friendly and helpful and the whole visit was a pleasure. Recommend you call in when nearby,
