Lovely early spring walk around RHS HH, followed by a delicious light lunch. Always plenty to see in the gardens and always plenty to be tempted to buy in the shop. Great service as ever with lots of plants starting to come back to life. Very enjoyable.

I have always liked Chelmsford museum. The volunteers have always been helpful and welcoming and I've attended a few home ed educational events which have been really hands on run by knowledgeable, enthusiastic staff and very reasonably priced. However this December I was blown away with how much effort they made to deliver my boy some Christmas magic. I'd booked their Santa visit for my 4 year old son and unfortunately we couldn't attend. I didn't think much of it until I received an email from Elf Rachel saying we were sorry Albert couldn't attend so here is a message from Santa and we can post your present out. I really appreciated the sentiment so wrote back to say thank you and how much I appreciated the gesture as due to my daughters complex needs Albert has to miss out on a lot of stuff. I then received an email back to say Elf Kieran would like to deliver the present himself in full Elf regalia! This happened this week and my little boy was so happy and excited. Elf Kieran was amazing and really did bring some Christmas magic, my boys face was a picture when he was told Santa has him on the nice list. Thank you Elf Kieran for going above and beyond to make my little boy smile I wish you, the staff and volunteers a lovely Christmas.

We love Hylands Park and visit regularly. It is vast so it’s easy to find a quiet place and everywhere is beautifully kept. Lots of comments about the parking charges but people are happy to pay for the fuel to get there! All councils throughout the country have had their budgets cut and have to recoup the money somehow so they can carry on providing much needed services to residents. Don’t blame the council.

The Friday free lunchtime concerts are excellent (but you need to choose carefully depending on what appeals to you musically). There’s always a good choice.
The interior could by no means be described as grand or majestic in the same way as Salisbury or York; it is after all a glorified town church but it does have much that is attractive and some beautiful PRB stained-glass windows and ornamentation. I find the different heads atop the columns in the nave something to wonder at.
Given its scale, it is worth a visit.

Watched Kiss Me Kate, which was brilliant!! What an energetic show! The two main characters had such strong, powerful voices and the acting from everyone was incredible. The choreography was excellent. Looking forward to the next show in September.

Was looking for a Christmas lights attraction to go to near us as London is so repetitive every year so we tried something local and it was surprisingly really good! Parking was easy, quick and free, arrived at 6:30 so its wasn't too busy and the lights were so pretty short and sweet to get u in the spirit! Was there for 2h ish taking photos and gazing around ,you could maybe drag it out with drinks but would be rather expensive. Would recommend on a dry night can't imagine it being fun in the rain haha

Essex police museum has one of the best displays I have seen and really give you an insight in to the history of the policing of Essex going back over a 100 years,
lots of things for kids to interact with and a really good way to show youngster of today that policemen are there to help.

We used to visit the race course several times a year but have had to cut back due the price increase. However this month 15th feb I booked a VIP experience With a private tour and 3 course meal at the club restaurant . From start to finish staff and service was truly outstanding this place really knows how to treat punters and guests! The tour was fantastic ! Jane and sue made our evening full of onsite, knowledge and passion highly recommend this and would book again just for this. Club restaurant was lovely but the main course was stingy ! One baby carrot one blob of potatoe sorry but this was a let down although lovely , having to order cheese board due to being hungry was not good, the staff at the restaurant were outstanding couldn’t do enough and the tote lady’s - Sharon lovely . This is a great place to come and relax and feel valued it’s great for couples and family’s my only grip is the rising costs it is a Experiance it’s a wonderful night /day but do feel when under 18s go free to racing there should be some concession In the restaurants for under 18s at the moment we cannot take our family here for a lovely evening In fairwood any more as £75 per person even children is just to much and it’s a shame.

We recently visited on a Saturday morning to meet up with friends.
We got there early and it wasn’t too busy but did get busier as the session went on so would recommend getting there early.
All staff were friendly, polite and approachable so a positive.
The play equipment was a great size and choice that covered all ages. It felt safe and clean and different areas for different ages meant that all ages could play.
There was guest appearances at different times which my 2 year old loved and made it even more value for money.
The price was reasonable for entry and definitely competitive with other soft play areas.
We didn’t try the food here so couldn’t comment
Overall a great experience and definitely recommend when meeting up with friends. Will be returning

We took my daughter to Eden Oasis with her sister for her birthday. We had such a fabulous time. The team spent so much time with us explaining about the animals and they were so knowledgeable and friendly. You can tell they really love their job and the animals. The animals are so well looked after and cared for. What a wonderful experience.
