Tucked away in the South Chilcotin Mountains lies the largest log lodge in the West and the home of TLH Heliskiing. Nestled on the shores of Tyaughton Lake with views of snow-covered peaks, experience the advantage of skiing or boarding with only two groups per helicopter. This means virtually no waiting for the helicopter and the ability to ski and board at your own pace. Pair that with great accommodations, gourmet meals and plenty of activities and you get a TLH Heliskiing experience you won't forget!

"Heliskiing is like going to the Super Bowl for a skier so you want verything to be perfect. At TLH they try to accomodate you. They have excellent guides and helicopters/pilots. One chopper for each group of 10 skiers. Since weather plays such a big part of the scene they do have a minimum amount of..." vertical guaranteed . It is a bit grueling each day with the number of runs each day. You must remove your skiis and avalanchebac k pack each time and reassemble on top. The runs are not super-long so you do alot of getting in and out of the chopper. I felt reasonably safe since the helicopter is always there in case of a rescue. We didn't ski any double black diamond but did ski almost all virgin powder runs. Occaisionally wasn't enough room for fresh tracks on each pitch so some sharing was required. Ended paying about $8000US plus airfare for 80000 ft vertical in 3.5 days. Includes tips/meals/tranfers by air to WHistler.

"Just returned from a New Year's trip to TLH/Tyax. Everything about the trip was amazing. From the minute we were in luxury. The lodge is beautiful and as combined rustic lodge with convenience. We were warmly greeted at the door by the staff and GM Josh and taken to our gorgeous room with views ..."of Tyaughton Lake. The food was to die for and every person who worked there put in 110%. While my partner was heli-skiing I was able to borrow snowshoes and have a relaxing day in the spa and reading in front of the fire. The skiers were back by 4pm so we could enjoy an apres together to hear all the stories. New Year's eve was a tame evening, but we still popped a bottle of champagne off the deck, reveled in the starry sky, and rang in the new year with new friends. Not only an excellent place for adventurers but also a great place to relax. Local residents should look into standby rates which are a lot more reasonable than a week long package, but you have to drive yourself. Prepar...
