Old North State Winery started as a cooperative in 2002 and has since evolved into a winery owned by two families with one vision. Our vineyards were established on farms that have been in our families for generations. We hope you enjoy the culmination of our dreams, our devotion to our farmland, and our passion for our wines produced at Old North State Winery. Most of our wines start out as luscious wine grapes grown on Yadkin Valley North Carolina family farms. We are the Old North State Winery, Inc. located in Mount Airy, in the headwaters of the Yadkin Valley AVA. Wine, beer and fine foods are our passion and our legacy.

"Since I am a big Andy Griffith fan, we stopped in Mt Airy on our way to another destination. We arrived later in the day so wasn't able to see a lot. One place we wanted to see was Wally's Gas Station. We got there at 4 PM which is when it was suppose to close, but the lady in the station was so swe..."et. She stayed and made us welcome. She told us stories about the TV show and about how nice "Thelma Lou" from the show, who now lives in Mt Airy, is and how she hugs everyone. I wish we would have had more time to take the tour and visit more. We plan on going back to see more of the town and museums. Just remember that most things close early and are not open on Su...

He then invited us in and when we asked for a wine tasting, escorted us , chatting and joking in the most charming way p..."ossible! He sat us at the bar, introduced us to Liz, our pourer and we enjoyed some delicious wines!
After a while we decided to order a light lunch from their deli counter. I had the chicken quesadillas and my friend ordered a BLT.
The food was fantastic!!! My quesadillas were filled to the brim with chicken, sauteed onions and peppers and some delicious cheeses. More than enough for two people! My friends BLT was equally delicious. We ended up buying half a case of wine, and a delicious beer. The greeter turned out to be one of the owners, Joel, who personally invited us back for the Thursday music concert.
We highly recommended this place! It was genuinely a wonderful experience and ...

"Small, but informative, with a lot of memorabilia. For 5.00 you get this, the Siamese twins museum and the Ryland theater, home of the longest live radio broadcast."
