Boscobel, the elegant Federal period house museum set on lovely landscaped grounds with breathtaking views of the Hudson River, has been welcoming visitors to explore its man-made and natural beauty for decades. It is acclaimed a gleaming jewel in the Hudson River Valley’s crown.Vice President & New York Governor Nelson A. Rockefeller referred to Boscobel as "one of the most beautiful homes ever built in America." In 2011, as we celebrate Boscobel’s 50th year as a house museum, more than ever we are focused on Boscobel’s mission “to enrich the lives of its visitors with memorable experiences of the history, culture and environment of the Hudson River Valley”. Attractions include guided mansion tours, the rose and herb gardens, the woodland trail, annual signature events, as well as summer Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival performances. Situated on 68 acres on the east bank of the Hudson River opposite the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Boscobel is open every day except Tuesdays, Thanksgiving & Christmas Day. The museum & grounds are closed to the public January through March.
