The Museum includes space for permanent, rotating and traveling exhibitions; a small library and media center; an office; and a gift shop. Presentations at the Museum will have themes that resonate with Jewish people in New Jersey utilizing photographs, paintings, panel displays, artifacts, text, music and multi-media. Moreover, the JMNJ will serve a larger purpose, developing educational and cultural programs that promote greater understanding between individuals representing different backgrounds and religions. It will reach out to other groups, creating meaningful conversations and activities around topics such as cultural diversity, social justice, prejudice, nonviolence, and shared religious values. Moreover, it will form partnerships and develop age-appropriate activities for public, private and parochial school students. The location of the Museum in a city with many ethnic and religious groups provides a wonderful opportunity to establish itself as the first center for the study of tolerance in New Jersey.

"Not far from the train and bus station, Newark museum has some great exhibits not to be missed. Even if it is not a Smithsonian in D.C. or a museum in New York City, the Newark Museum is conveniently located in the heart of the city and also is not too far from the very well known Portugese district..." with some of the greatest Portugese food in the country.

"Coming to the Ironbound presents so many food quandaries: what to eat in terms of cultural options, whether to eat it in the familiar places already experienced and loved, to try somewhere new yet highly recommended, or something new and compelling on the menu yet unknown rather than a trusted favor..."ite after the longish ride to get here. Another problem: how much not to eat to leave room for an enticing dessert here or taking a short refreshing walk to any of the fine neighboring bakeries.
And whatever you do, be sure to read up in advance, get advice, come informed because some of the old famous favorites are now expensive and unworthy dinosaurs. Take a hop over to a local wine shop and pick up a couple of cases of incredibly delicious and cheap vinho verde and good bottles of port and sherry, equally gentle on the budget

"Modern facilities, probably better then the Lincoln Center in NY, but unfortunately it is kind of out of the way and located in Newark, NJ. which is not so safe in general but I found on the other hand people here at the NJPAC much nicer then Lincoln Center."
