Mansfield Attractions: What to do & Places to Visit in Mansfield
"Very interesting tour of the 2 homes of Laura Ingalls Wilder where she wrote her "House on the Prairie" books. Main house still has original furnishings, well preserved from when she lived and eventually died there. Tour guides very knowledgeable and interesting with many facts, stories and detail..."s of her life. This is an entirely non-profit museum and no longer receive any funds from the book sales as the current heirs apparently have no interest in having this bit of history preserved.

"I actually visited the Wilder home back in 6th grade. We took our family to visit. If you love the Little House" books, you will appreciate visiting Laura's home, there are actually two homes in Mansfield, as well as the museum. The tour guides are very informative and entertaining."
"The little pioneer town was worth the drive, though the weather wasn't ideal for walking around that day. There was quite a bit of walking from the parking area to each of the pioneer town stores. We did buy seeds at the store and enjoyed the slow pace and pioneer style of decor. "
